Card Monsters First Impression PlayNReview

“When a little card game consumed my life”- CutieRoo

When I started playing Card Monsters, I didn’t know what to expect at first but as I started to play I did not get the best impression. However, as more time went by and the updates continue to come, I was able to enjoy this game more so than I gave credit for. The most eye-catching impression is definitely the unique style of art that stood out. The use of the colors and how they popped from the screen looks tasteful while not being distracting. Each piece that is created has its own flare to it, which I thought was quite necessary in order to make the cards and card-actions distinct and personal.

Besides there were other features that I liked as well that made the game more enjoyable and smooth to play like the game is easy to navigate from the menu screen or the battle system was easy to learn. This is a plus when it comes to games you can play on your phone because sometimes mobile games do not have the smoothest of interfaces.

However, one of the drawbacks that I had was the font size for the game itself. It was too small to make out what was written and would like to see it reformatted to a slightly bigger size. That being said, I bet that as more updates are arriving; that will be one of them. One other thing is the lack of explanation of what things are. If you are experienced with iOS games, then it’s easy to know where to go and know what to do. However, if you are a child or a first-time user then you could figure out how the game works on your own but I recommend that the game explains with a video or even a small tutorial of the game to get your feet wet. Possibly, imagine the start of your first-blind thru of the game where there are arrows pointing to what you are clicking

on and giving you small descriptions of what the game is all about.

The game does have elements that are what makes it worth to play. For example, the cards do have abilities and its neat how you have melee and ranged attacks to consider in your gameplay. Plus, having the card placed in the correct spots matter in order to make the best move (otherwise they are not). Nevertheless, you can enhance the cards by giving them a shield to have more defense or a sword for more attack but at the cost of using your crystals.

While there are some bugs that need to get sorted out, I believe that with the feedback of the testers *LIKE ME! Or others* they will listen to what us but while they are still maintaining what their ideas are for the game. It seems like they do know about the bugs because each time there has been an update, the game is better and enhances the game-play that much further.

I thoroughly enjoy the constant new battles you face because each one is different from the last.  Each time of playing you constantly are having to think of a new strategy with what cards are given to you. It also makes things more interesting because when you are limited with the cards you can hold and the cost of crystals along with the luck of the draw. With these elements combined with the riveting art style and different cards you can acquire; there is so much potential for this game.  I can see this game becoming a huge iOS hit and I hope that the game will be able to provide more and expand onto consoles. When the game does come to a full release I recommend you give this game a shot, there is so much to this game I couldn’t see you putting it down once you start.
